Sideloading Apps Onto Your Nook Tablet (including installing the Amazon App Store and GoLauncher)
One of the most common questions we get asked is: How do I sideload apps (add non B&N apps) to my Nook Tablet?
The Nook Tablet is an awesome piece of hardware with great specs, a great screen and the best selection of books and magazines you'll find anywhere. One area where it lacks a little behind the competition is in selection of Apps. While the Nook App Store offers about 1000 Apps and Barnes & Noble does a good job in vetting them for quality, the rival Amazon App Store offers about 25,000 Apps. These instructions will let you gain access to them so you'll have the best of both worlds.
Now not all of these additional Apps will look great on your Nook Tablet's screen as some are designed for phones but there are still quite a number of games and other useful apps of all types that are available and hey, it's always nice to have options.
A lot of people don't realize it's actually not that difficult to put the Amazon App Store onto your Nook Tablet. It doesn't even require you to root your tablet, just change a couple of settings, use a few easy to get download tools and away you go! (Note: The TGPS_Launcher.APK file mentioned in these instructions has been replaced by Comptonsoft.com, the developer, with another program now called AppMenu.APK. Just use that instead and the rest of the instructions remain the same.)
